About this guide
A fan-made, OSRS-Wiki-style quest guide for the BeyondMS MapleStory v83 private server, made with the server owner's permission.
Where the data comes from
- Quests, NPCs, monsters, items and maps are imported automatically from the GMS v83 game files (WZ XML), as published in the open-source Cosmic v83 server project (revision
fec53bc771). - Monster drops come from BeyondMS's own public drop table at beyond-ms.com/drops where available, otherwise from Cosmic's v83 drop table. Shop and box (reactor) data comes from Cosmic.
- Images (NPCs, monsters, item icons, minimaps) come from maplestory.io, which renders them from the same v83 files.
- Regular quests on BeyondMS are unchanged from v83, so quest requirements and rewards are shown exactly as the game data has them.
- Boss prequests are where BeyondMS differs. Those pages are written from the community guides and staff posts on the BeyondMS Discord (#guides, #faq, #game-faq, #change-logs), and each page cites its posts. Screenshots on those pages come from the original Discord posts.
- Server info (rates, rebirth system) comes from beyond-ms.com and the official BeyondMS guide.
Currently: 1,670 normal quests (2,225 including expired events and title quests), 616 NPCs, 776 monsters, 2,141 items, 1,102 maps and 4 hand-written guides.
Auto-drafted vs hand-written
Every quest page has a walkthrough. Most are auto-drafted from the data (who to talk to, what to collect, which monsters drop it and where they spawn, how to walk there from the nearest town). Pages marked ✔ Hand-written guide were written by people and take precedence over the data.
Contributing a guide
Guides are small text files: data/overrides/quests/<questId>.md (or .yaml). BeyondMS-only quests go in data/custom/quests/ in the same format. See the project README for the format.
